PHP Escape Slash

Example using PHP escape slash:

I told him, "Not in MY house, young fella!"

Example without PHP escape slash:

I told him, "Not in MY house, young fella!"

Explanation

The escape slash allows me to include special characters (i.e quotation marks) inside strings without causing problems. Without it, PHP treats the quotes as the end of the string, which results in an error.
